ARJ sponsors Velindre – Wales’ premier cancer centre!

This year we’re sponsoring Velindre, Wales’ premier Cancer Centre.

Velindre is an amazing organisation that provides care, support and treatment to cancer patients and their families across Wales.

As the number of cancer diagnoses rises year on year, it’s important we come together as a community to help those in need.

“We all know of family, friends and loved ones who have been touched by cancer. The incidence of cancer is rising by 2% each year in Wales with nearly 20,000 people diagnosed with this illness each year,” comments Andrew Morris, head of fundraising at Velindre.

So what are we doing to help?

We have organised a number of internal fundraising activities that will take place throughout the year, and we’ve also added the Velindre logo to our trucks, which can be seen on roads up and down the country.

The amount raised will be presented to Velindre at their Annual Ball, which takes place next year.

Donations to Velindre are used to fund things over and above those provided by the NHS, so every penny donated makes a huge difference to patients and their families.

“Alan R Jones has chosen Velindre Cancer Centre as our charity as it has personal connotations to many members of our team here at the head office,” explains managing director Ray Clegg.

“The work they do and the team spirit and humility with which they carry out their work is something to admire and respect, and as they have pointed out, support at these difficult times is essential for everyone who is touched by cancer to be given the essential support they need above and beyond that offered by our fantastic NHS service.”
